Our online shop is always open, but the store in Glenealy is closed during January 2012, see you in February!
Although designed as a whole series, an individual day can be taken by those who wish to focus on a particular topic. This course has been newly designed so that participants can follow the growing season from February with monthly sessions of what to do in the garden and be well on their way to successfully growing their own by the end of the season.
Courses in this series:
Day 1, Wednesday, February 16th
Ground Preparation, how to build a lazy bed, green manures, soil and composting.
Day 2, Wednesday March 16
Rotation, seed sowing, early planting, growing in polytunnels and tools.
Day 3, Wednesday April 13
Weed control, spring platning, companion plants, pricking out
Day 4, Wednesday May 18
Growing in polytunnels, planting tender crops, hardening off
Day 5, Wednesday June 15
Growing herbs and salads, propagation, filling the hungry gap, container growing
Day 6, Wednesday Sept 21
Follow up on previous days, what to do with harvest, storing and processing vegetables and fruit, seed saving.
