POWERDOWN Transition Town Training (off-site only)
Suzie has recently been trained to deliver this course and has run it now for several groups. It was developed by the Cultivate centre http://www.cultivate.ie and participant feedback has been very positive.
“I really enjoyed the open-minded nature of the course and the different solutions outlined. It was definitely not a one-size-fits-all approach and very much gave sight to opportunities for everyone, no matter what their lifestyle, ideology or income, to be involved in reducing our carbon dependence.” - Dee Blake, Civil Servant
Its focus is on re-localizing: finding local solutions related to our need for food, shelter, energy, transport and livelyhood. It is a way of revitalizing local economies and communities in light of the current global economic uncertainties and the challenges climate change, fossil fuel cost and availability. It has been termed "future proofing," energy descent planning" and transition training. Fee €350 per 2.5-3hr session usually 6-10 sessions, once off briefings and talks possible rate by arrangement. Local Study Groups in peoples homes also available (in East Wicklow only), please enquire for rates.
