Store Hours
Our online shop is always open, but the store in Glenealy is closed during January 2012, see you in February!
In the last couple of weeks our latest Garden Complete, Beginners Food Growing and Beginners Beekeeping courses have run. We've been busy preparing for an exciting free Heritage event at the farm this weekend (more below), and have also been making improvements to the store venue. Look out for our new signs, printed expertly and very promptly by local printer Premier Media & Print.

Once again Sheane's Cottage Garden will be on hand with a beautiful selection of local fresh vegetables and salad bags for sale, along with Renee’s home made chutneys and jams.
These are also available for pre-order on the OOOOBY website. Also Darragh Flynn’s production of sprouts are now available for pre-orders. Darragh from The Happy Pear in Greystones was at the store last Saturday with sunflower and peas sprouts as well as wheatgrass that he produces in Newcastle. He gave us samples & demonstrations on the way to get a healthy juice out of wheatgrass, how sprouts are grown and what the health benefits.

Also available this Saturday will be:
- Local grapes (grown in a conservatory without chemicals by Suzie's parents in Ashford).
- Local Duck Eggs from Wendy Nairn in Ashford. Wendy is an experienced organic gardening teacher who also teaches on our Garden Complete course. Please pre-order as only limited quantities of these are available.
- Local & Organic Hen Eggs from Crocker's Organic Farm (Glenealy) - we will have some stock, but please pre-order to be sure you get yours.
We will also have available pints of newly launched local ice cream Baron von Kuul's, made by Christian and Ruth von Teichman in Ashford, Co Wicklow, made with milk from their own cows. Please ask for these in the shop, as they are stored in a freezer in the office.
For growers (large or small), we can now also supply certified organic onion sets and certified organic compost.

Free Heritage Skills Weekend
Carraig Dúlra is the venue for an event featuring Irish Heritage Skills from the Traveller and Settled communities on the weekend of 26-27 September.
Ireland has a rich tradition of skills and crafts which are in danger of being lost. This unique heritage weekend explores old Irish skills from both the Traveller culture and the settled community.
Members of the public can attend displays and training of exciting trades such as:
- copper smithing
- drystone walling
- knitting/weaving
- herb gardening
- miniature caravan modeling
- furniture restoration
- fishing skills
Through these demonstration days, we hope to explore the possibility of re-developing these traditional skills for modern use.
This event is open to everyone and is free of charge, but please pre-register by email (info@dulra.org) or phone (0404 69570). Let us know which day you will be attending and which events you are interested in.
Both days run from 10-4, with displays at 11am and 2pm.
There will light refreshments available for participants.
Free shuttle bus all day (stops opposite the pub in Glenealy). If driving, please note that parking is limited, please car-pool if possible.
This heritage skills project was part funded by County Wicklow Partnership through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in Rural Areas.
