"Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree."
--Martin Luther King Jr
Last week after the GIY meeting, we went up to Carraig Dúlra to plant new trees in the permaculture area, including trees that had been "adopted" by people before the tree planting day. It was cold, but we kept warm digging in the farm's stony soil. A huge thank you to everyone who came and volunteered their time and hard work! We look forward to watching them grow. If you missed out, you can still adopt one!

OOOOBY Update
Our stock of organic seed potatoes sold out very quickly, which says a lot about how many people are growing their own this year! If you still need seed potatoes, we can get them for you, but you will need to order now - they will arrive after Easter. Most of our organic vegetable and herb seeds also sold out after the recent GIY meeting and the Complete Organic Garden training day, so we've just gotten in a new shipment of a larger selection of organic seeds, including some seed gift boxes (there's a children's one, a polytunnel one and an "easy growing" one). We also have sunflower seeds in little pots which make a simple and natural gift for a child.

Organic seed compost is due in this week, and we are also now selling a selection of certified organic herbs and plants in pots, including Mullein, two varieties of Thyme, Parsley, Coriander, Cornflower and Garlic, grown by Suzie.

Sponsor an "Apple"!
Sadly, one of our office Apple Macs died this week, taking much of our data with it. Mike (whose "other" career is an IT person and Web designer) spent a few long days recovering much of the lost emails, powerpoints and documents, but the Mac needs to be replaced (€950), and our backup system needs to be modernised to keep up with our expanding work (€450). These are our top items on our wish list now, and if you or your business could sponsor this equipment it will go a long way to supporting our work developing and supporting community family health through food growing and reconnecting with nature. Thanks and hope to see you on the land soon,
Mike and Suzie Cahn
