Box Scheme kicked off!

We're pleased to say that with more produce being harvested from everyone's gardens, the weekly food box system is now up and running, with several people commenting how pleased they were to be able to get local veg along with other healthy foods, at a reasonable cost.  All orders received by end of Thursday will be ready for you that Saturday at the OOOOBY Store.  Delivery is also available, ask for details as not everything can be shipped!

To try this out, you can order online, over the phone or in the store.  A box of fresh in-season local veggies grown without chemicals and almost no food miles is available each week for €5 (the veggies in the picture at right are certified organic from Carraig Dulra and travelled about 2 miles from the farm to the store).  Local organic eggs are also available, as are locally made jams & chutneys, packaged healthy foods such as flour, pasts, rice, sugar, cereals, etc.  Find what you're looking for with the powerful online product search, or contact us for advice.

Practical Permaculture

This was a really successful weekend, the group made charcoal, a rocket stove, surveying tools (which they then used) and did significant work on the  Forest Garden at Carraig Dúlra.  The group is shown at right in a keyhole garden bed.  More photos are on our facebook page

Upcoming events

Bushcraft / Primitive Living Skills  - 21-22 August

Cost is €95 one day / €180 two days - all food and camping included.  Deadline for booking is 12 August!

GIY (Grow it Yourself) Gardening group meeting - 21 August

The GIY Glenealy/Ashford/Wicklow (Southeast) group is for gardeners from every level of experience, from beginners to experts.  The group meets on the third Saturday of each month at the OOOOBY store from 1-2pm.   There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome, no matter if you've never gardened before or have lots of experience.  IMPORTANT: Please contact us if you are planning to attend on 21 August as we are planning an on-site visit to a local garden, and we need to estimate numbers.
