Stone Carving, Drystone walling & Herb-Lore courses this weekend (14-15 June)

Just a quick reminder that we still have places available on the following traditional skills courses, which are running THIS WEEKEND, 14-15 June.

Stone Carving / Cutting
This stone carving workshop involves an introduction to the tools of stone carving, methods of using them, and a relief carving of a natural form on panel. Participants should have a relief sculpture in limestone / sandstone to take home with them.
Course Tutor: Dermot Twohig

Dry Stone & Lime Mortar Walling
Traditional dry-stone walling construction techniques - also garden features (retaining walls, raised beds, seats, steps) plus an introduction to the use of lime mortar which allows a building to 'breathe' letting out water-vapour but preventing rain from getting in. Steel-toe-cap boots are recommended. We will be working on a wall within Carraig Dulra's herb wheel or a proposed mini amphitheatre
Course Tutor: Bob Wilson

Herb-lore
Plant Magic- Exploration of our native wild and garden plants includes edible and medicinal uses, folklore, gardening tips, herb walk, seasonal recipes, herbal tincture and ointment making.
Tutor: Kes Clarke

The Advanced Willow course is full but participants on other courses can have a look in at what they'll be doing. There will also be Tipi making demonstrations during the weekend. Camping is free for participants. Food & limited snacks & drinks will be available (additional cost)

The cost is €165 per person, open to adults and children 14+.
