Celebrating New Year's started in Babylon around 2000 BC, and with it began the custom of making a New Year's Resolution.
Babylon's most common resolution was "to return borrowed farm tools" !! The most common resolutions in the 21st century are about personal health.
GIY Meeting this Saturday 16th January
Whether or not you have returned all your borrowed tools, this is the time to start planning your garden, window box or allotment. GIY (Grow It Yourself) meets at the OOOOBY Store this Saturday from 1-2pm. Meet other gardeners or learners and swap tips and seeds (bring a few spare envelopes). Open to beginners through experienced, meetings are free of charge.
Seed & Garden Supplies for 2010
