Transitions into summer and optimisic times?
Apologies if this is of no interest to
you. Normally we don't forward on events other than our own, but we
thought many of you would want to know about this, as it is an attempt
to form a movement in County Wickow towards transition towns an optimistic approach to one of the challenges of our time. Please let your friend and contacts know about this event.
Spring's on its way
"The sun was warm but the wind was
chill.
You know how it is with an April day.
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
a cloud come over the sunlit arch,
And wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March."

Seed collections in Co Wicklow
We know you just got a newsletter from us, but we decided to help Declan Little by passing this on, as the east coast has had some difficulties collecting native seed. See below from Declan:
Last chance to book! Music for children, Heritage skills for adults and teenagers -- all this weekend
Hello all,
Just a brief reminder that time is almost up to book a course for "Weekend on the Mountain", which is on this Sat/Sun. This is the last big event of the year for us.
Courses for children include Sounds Instruments & Improvisation Workshop (under 12's) & African Drumming (12+).
Weekend on the Mountain, Bushcraft, Music Workshops - all on 11-12 August
With the help of our WWOOFers, most of whom have come from North America, the vegetable garden and kitchen area have seen great improvements! We have been gearing up for our biggest event so far, to be held over the weekend of 11-12 August. Over this weekend we will be holding traditional skills training, an introductory primitive living/bushcraft course and children's music workshops.
Moon phases, energy output, completion of projects...
According to those attuned to the moon's cycles, the Waxing period of dark to full moon draws energy upwards and outwards, things build up, and energy is put out. It invites activity. Planting according to the moon focus' on the drawing upwards of moisture by the gravitational pull, but the last few weeks could certainly be said to have had similar characteristics for us humans too.
