Latest news....

It's been a good year but now we need to get the garden in order for the winter.  To that end can all members meet up this Saturday Oct 9th from 2-4 to do some weeding & gerneral maintenance.  Please bring whatever tools you can & if anybody has a motorised strimmer it would be most welcome.

We propose to do this on the first Saturday of every month just to keep things in order.

We'll have more news on the new  Wicklow GIY group soon.

The Story so far.....

The Wicklow Community Gardening Group was set up in 2006-7, in partnership with Wicklow Working Together in order to help and advise local groups wishing to set up a community garden. In the summer of 2007 the Dominican Ecology Centre in Wicklow Town leased the group space for a community garden on their organic farm.

This year the garden has thrived thanks to the great efforts made by the committee & the members.  Their green fingers have been well tanned this year but the resulting produce has been worth the toil.  It only demonstrates further the superior quality & taste of organically grown food. I haven't eaten so much cabbage in years, can't get enough of it! But we've only 3 heads left so it's time to get planting again.

The co-operation of the local community has been very welcome & we look forward to it continuing.
